What does Contents Insurance cover?
Contents – what’s covered?
Contents insurance insures the belongings you have at the insured address from your furniture, carpet and appliances and even your BBQ.
So, if any of the insured events happen during the period of insurance, we’ll generally pay to repair or replace your contents – up to the policy limits.
It’s up to you to decide the sums insured, and the type and level of cover that you want to take out. People generally want enough insurance to cover the property’s estimated replacement value. If you don’t have enough cover, you could end up having to cover some of the costs yourself. Remember, Allianz will only pay up to the amount of your loss or the sum insured, whichever is the lesser (subject to the policy terms and conditions) – so you should also be careful not to over insure. That’s why we’ve provided the calculator. It works as guides to help you estimate the replacement value of your home contents.

Today I received first class help from Rebecca in Hutt St Office. She was attentive, interested, helpful and knew her product well. It took me about ten minutes to read her email and decide to accept the quote. It was excellent to work with a friendly, helpful and polite real person. A job well done.
It was so easy and pleasant to arrange my travel insurance over the phone with Teresa. I had no idea it could be so easy! Thank you Teresa for your patience, professionalism and lovely manner.
COTA Insurance made it a breeze to organise my travel insurance over the phone, and took into account my special medical circumstances and provided cover where other insurance companies flat out denied it. Customer service was lovely too!
